Who are the Johnsons

Both of us are retired and are currently RVing in Snowbird mode. We travel in a 2011 Georgetown motorhome towing a Ford Explorer. We also travel with our dog, Barney. Barney is an elder springer spaniel who seems to love the RV lifestyle.

Although we have owned a motorhome since 2009, the 2013/14 winter will be our second year of non-vacation traveling. Last Winter we spent the cold months near Pensacola and Orlando, Florida. Previous short trips (when one or both of us were working) included trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, and a few weeks visit to Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine. For this season, we hope to explore some of the national Parks in the Southwest before returning to our home in Virginia.

Who are we? Ina worked for many years as a cook for several Hotel chains and is very active as a Deacon in her Protestant church. Me, I'm a 23 year Air Force retiree and a retired IT industry geek. After military service, I started in IT as a database programmer and then retired in 2012 from the American Chemical Society as a Lead Systems Engineer and LANDesk Administrator.

We both enjoy hosting cookouts and dinners. In addition to playing with computers and other technology; I occasionally do some fishing and DIY home projects. I'm also somewhat adicted to TV news and politics (rarely watching prime time dramas or sitcoms).

We would like to eventually become fulltime RVers at least for a few years. Presently we are comfortable spending warmer months of the year home-based at our house in Woodbridge Virginia.
